THE COMING OF DRYEM2/21/2021 Hyo to you, muin Meyn!
I can’t believe that Feb has almost passed, we have had tons of snow and ice in the kingdom, spring is knocking on our door, and we are still keeping social distance. It seems so strange to think that it all started, but a year ago… At times, it even feels as if it had been going on like this for years! On the positive side, we’ve been left to reconsider many things in our lives, our environment, our visions and values, our relationships; but above all, whether it all would or should go back to the old normality again. Talking to many dear friends and family, what I often hear is a reluctance to let this happen. Most people seem to take this time between brackets as an opportunity to reimagine what normality should look like, in a healthier and fairer world. So, taking on this idea, I am right now reimagining the way my Lost Kingdom will purge itself from all evil and foul things, in the end. It will be quite a treacherous journey for all involved, to be sure, and not all may come out as heroes, after all… Right now, however, let’s celebrate the coming of Dryem within and without the Skyarach Kingdom. The word Dryem is an abbreviation for Dryemoshach, and means literally: the Dragon egg lies on fresh moos. It was used to name the spring season in the Arach languages, which related most of its seasonal celebrations to the life cycle of the Dragon. In that spirit, happy Dryemoshach to you, muin Meyn! M.V.R.My love for fantasy and fairy tales was kindled early on, together with my fondness for languages. Born in Argentina, and after living for a short period in Italy and Vietnam, I settled in Germany to pursue my own legendary adventure. Interestingly enough, back then, i.e. right before the turn of the century, I did not know that I would stay in this beautiful country, become a mother of three and write my own epic stories... Or maybe I did? ;-) ArchivesCategories |
